Pic of the Week 9

Posted by on April 10, 2013

I am way behind with the Pic of the Week. Having a great time over here in the Philippines, a stupid injury and the frequent lack of internet have kept me from updating this category. Sorry for that and I hope you can understand. I want to revive the Pic of the Week and keep it going with the picture below.

Biri Island-4441

This was taken during our recent stay on Biri Island. It was actually taken by Chris, so all the credit goes to him for this one. We were enjoying the sunset of our last day on the island with Peter from Australia and Ralph from the US living on the island. The atmosphere that night was tropical perfect and seeing this picture with the silhouettes just describes it best. More info on where exactly we stayed and what happened there will follow soon in the upcoming article on Biri Island. Stay tuned.

Try to make it happen, it is really worth it. I really love it here in the Philippines.

Tell Chris the photo is just lovely. Amazing sunset and great silhouette. Haven’t heard of Biri Island so will have to wait & read your story on it.
    Hope your ankle is improving.

Hi Vicki, I will give Chris your regards. I had such a good time on this island. Looking at this picture really makes me miss it. But again, it wasn’t just about the place but more importantly about the people I was with and the people we have met there. Very inspirational. Ok, I better get going. Have to get up at 4 tomorrow to dive for the first time on this trip….. Thanks again for your feedback Vicki, I really appreciate it. Hope you are good as well! Oh and by the way, my foot is improving but still not doing overly well. I am hoping for the best ….

I have seen picture of the rock formation in Biri from my other friends, can’t wait to read the tale you will tell 🙂

Hope the ankle is healing well.

    • Philipp Dukatz

Unfortunately I was only able to see this one formation because it was accessible for me being a little handicapped. I would have loved to see other ones as well. But actually I can be happy to have done it. My foot is improving and being able to walk around after about one week is pretty good. So I am not complaining. Still needs to improve a lot and I am hoping for the best. Thanks for Feedback Mikaela, really appreciate it. Greetings from Malapascua, Philipp

Good to hear your ankle is getting better. You can always explore Biri again in the near future 🙂

So you are in Malapascua already ? Never been there, I always go directly to Bantayan Island instead 🙂

        • Philipp Dukatz

Mala is nice but much more touristy than any of the places we stayed at before. It is all about diving. I liked the rather low key places before better I have to say. I guess we are officially back on the tourist trail. Just have to get used to it…… I haven’t been to Bantayan… How is that?

          • samokan

It’s a very nice island for relaxing and away from everybody. It’s been years since I was last there but as far as I know it’s not that touristy yet, I hope, and I will find out in 2 weeks time. I think its less than an hour from Malapascua

  4. Annie

Lovely photo, tells your emotions well

    • Phil D.

Hi Annie, thanks for your feedback. I think the photo tells a lot. No need to write a lot. The time on this island was fantastic….I didn’t want it to stop. Thanks again for stopping by. Greetings, Philipp
