My new Pic of the Week is late as usual. This category is my problem child I have to admit – don’t even worry about the numbers on them anymore. Sorry once again for not administering it regularly.
So this time I am posting a pic of myself, I think it is the first one in this category so far. My Facebook friends already know this one – it was taken during an island hopping tour around El Nido, Palawan. We stopped at 5 different islands where we snorkeled, swam and just relaxed. We took a cooler of cold ones and had a great time with the other people on the boat. This here was taken at a place called Small Lagoon. The entry to this lagoon is way back in the background. Maybe you can tell. Chris’ fish eye lens works perfect on shots like that – thanks again to him for this one.
I’m so jealous. I’m from the Philippines and I haven’t been here yet. But I will definitely visit Palawan soon!
Hi Twig, don’t be jelous. You can do it if you want. It’s not too far and flights can be bought cheap if booked early enough. I think you will like Palawan….
What a fantastic location. That water looks divine.
Hey Chili, it was fantastic there. The water really looks like that and even better. By now we have made quiet a bit of island hopping and the scenery is awesome. Unfortunately you start getting used to it and not appreciate as much as in the beginning. For me it is time now for a change….. But Palawan is definitely a paradise….
What a great shot and a beautiful location. I’ve just arrived in El Nido and will be making the most of the island hopping. This is such an amazing corner if the world, isn’t it?
Sure is…. the island hopping is nice. Gotta ave the right people on the boat though. That can make or break a tour like that. We were lucky and had a good time. After having done three tours in El Nido and Coron, i have to say that I had enough for a while 😉
Wow three boat tours in such a short time would be a bit exhausting for me. We did one tour, with good people and an excellent guide. There were a few too many other boats about doing the same thing as us for my liking, but there’s no doubt that it’s an amazing place to visit 🙂
Hey there, I kinda felt the same about the amount of boats around. But what can you do? We tried to make the best of it, brought some booze and enjoyed the beautiful landscape which still is totally amazing. I am in Bicol right now and we did an island tour with friends I had made while travelling. I have to say that tour was better than the ones in Palawan. Really beautiful places and by far not as many boats and tourists. It was great and I can definitely recommend it. We took off from the town of Matnog.
Hi Chris! are you going to El Nido this May?
Unfortunately not, I am stuck back here in Germany. I wish I could though, so nice there. BTW my name is Phil 😉
Echt cool!!!! I need to get my dose of sun soon…
I feel ya. Must be hard for a Majorcinan girl living in cold and grey London hehe. I’d also be up for some sun again 😉
Aber scheiss drauf…Malle ist nur einmal im Jahr…. Ah, I miss hearing that in the streets. I am from Arenal itself, haha, where all the German glamour is 🙂
Going on Friday!
Haha, Malle …. I have been there once only. Great that you’ll be back so soon…perfect time to leave I would say. How long will you be staying? Stay away from the German drunkards ….
Mallorca is a beautiful place…Just parts of it are taken over by tourists. But some of the local beaches have nothing to envy of the one in your picture! 🙂
But shhh…those are only for us who live there!
Yeah, I heard that it is really beautiful and if I would go, I would try to find these places instead of partying up in Arenal. Maybe you can show me around one, that would be sweet. Would love to tour the island by motorbike one day 😉
Hey! This photo is really amazing! I will be travelling alone to El Nido this coming June 16-17. What tour did you avail when you visited El Nido? TIA! 🙂
I don’t remember which tours I did… maybe A and B or C… they all kinda the same. Take some beers or Tanduay along 😉
